DESCRIPTION
The main aim of BPEP HE is the formation of universal, general professional competences in students in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education and professional competences in accordance with the requirements of professional standards, preparing graduates for activities in the development of software for computer technology and automated systems using elements of artificial intelligence.
The implementation of this aim should ensure that students master the basic methods and tools for designing computer software, methods and tools for using artificial intelligence systems, and acquire skills in practical work with objects of professional activity.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• apply natural science and general engineering knowledge, methods of mathematical analysis and modeling, theoretical and experimental research in professional activities;
• solve standard problems of professional activity on the basis of information and bibliographic culture using information and communication technologies and taking into account the basic requirements of information security;
• participate in the development of standards, norms and regulations, as well as technical documentation related to professional activities;
• install software and hardware for information and automated systems;
• develop business plans and technical specifications for equipping departments, laboratories, offices with computer and network equipment;
• participate in setting up and adjusting software and hardware systems;
• develop algorithms and programmes suitable for practical application;
• master techniques for using software to solve practical problems;
• solve problems in professional activities based on information and bibliographic culture, digital technologies and artificial intelligence systems;
• design software components with elements of artificial intelligence;
• create implementation options for software components based on an analysis of the requirements;
• select methods for solving problems using artificial intelligence systems;
• solve problems using artificial intelligence systems;
• evaluate and select artificial neural network models and tools to solve the task in hand;
• solve applied problems and participate in the implementation of projects in the field of end-to-end digital subtechnology “Computer Vision”;
• solve applied problems and participate in the implementation of projects in the field of end-to-end digital subtechnology “Natural Language Processing”;
• conduct testing and pilot operation of artificial intelligence systems;
• search for data in open sources, specialized libraries and repositories;
• prepare and label structured and unstructured data for machine learning.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The graduates are employed as programmers, test programmers, software engineers, system engineers.
All graduates of the department are 100% in demand at the enterprises of the city. Many of them are already working since the third year. At the department in 2024 there are 82 graduates, 71 of them will be employed in their study field, 11 will continue their studies in the Master’s degree programme.
