DESCRIPTION
The educational programme aims at developing students’ personal qualities and forming the following competences in accordance with the requirements of the Federal State Educational Standard of Higher Education in the study field 13.03.02 Power and Electrical Engineering:
- universal competences, based on general science knowledge, which allow students to work in the chosen area and which contribute to their social mobility and sustainability on the labour market;
- general professional competences, based on knowledge in natural sciences, which allow the students to successfully develop professional competences and be demanded on the labour market;
- professional competences in the corresponding areas of activity, in accordance with professional standards, which determine the students’ readiness to efficiently work in the field of Power Systems and Networks.
The main aim of the bachelor’s degree educational programme is to train bachelors in the field of electrical and power engineering who are capable of being a leader, working in a team, act and win in a competitive environment.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
On successful completion of the course the student should be able to:
• understand the principles of operation of modern information technologies and use them for professional tasks;
• develop algorithms and computer programmes suitable for practical application;
apply appropriate physical and mathematical apparatus, methods of analysis and modeling, theoretical and experimental research when solving professional problems;
• use methods of analysis and modeling of electrical circuits and electrical machines;
use the properties of structural and electrical engineering materials in calculating the parameters and modes of objects of professional activity;
• carry out measurements of electrical and non-electrical quantities in relation to objects of professional activity;
• take part in designing professional objects in accordance with the terms of reference and regulatory and technical documentation, following various technical requirements;
• calculate operating modes of objects and determine the parameters of equipment of professional objects;
• provide the required modes and specified parameters of the technological process according to a given methodology;
• compose and execute standard technical documentation.
EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
The graduates are employed as design engineers, manufacturing engineers, metrology engineers, regional managers.
Graduates are in demand at the enterprises generating electric power, providing its transmission and distribution, at industrial and other enterprises, in research and development and design organizations.
